Creative Cross Training

A 4 Week Class Series For Aerialists

Starting 19th June, 2025

Welcome to Creative Cross-Training!

A 4 Week Class Series teaching you how to build strength off the apparatus to support your aerial practice.

This class series is designed to give you more guidance and clear actionable steps to train strength and mobility outside of your aerial. We’ll look at building full body strength in a progressive and effective way, and get creative with unique drills and strength based movement combos.

We’ll be learning the following:

  • How to efficiently warm up your body in preparation for the strength and skill you’re working on

  • How to assess your current level of strength, and match this with drills that are suitable for where you’re currently at

  • Strength drills that cover the whole body

  • Mobility drills and how to strengthen your end ranges of motion

  • How to modify and adapt drills for accessibility

  • How everything off the apparatus relates to aerial and being in the air

  • Programming your cross-training into your aerial practice

Each class will be practical and led by Aerial Strength and Conditioning Coach Verity Bradford. You’ll receive feedback and be able to as questions throughout the sessions. There will be time at the end of each class for Q and A.

Class Dates:

  • Thursday 19th June, 5pm BST

  • Thursday 26th June, 5pm BST

  • Thursday 3rd July, 5pm BST

  • Thursday 10th July, 5pm BST

Yes, there will be recordings if you can’t make the classes live! 🎉

Here’s what each week’s classes and training will cover.

Week 1 - Hip And Leg Strength

In week 1 we’ll start with focusing on the lower body. The hips and legs play a key role in aerial and often get overlooked. We’ll train accessible strength exercises, work on mobility to support developing your end ranges of motion, and put what we work on into some fun movement complexes.

Week 2 - Core And Compression

In week 2 we’ll work on our core and compression strength in a way that relates to aerial, and train movements that translate directly to skills. We’ll look at core drills that target the whole trunk and we’ll do some fun conditioning sets to get a better understanding of how to execute core strength training effectively. We’ll tie this into compression strength training too!

Week 3 - Upper Body Push

In week 3 we’ll dive deeper into building upper body strength through pushing movements. These movements are essential to balance out all of the pulling. We’ll cover strength drills, handstand drills, and single arm pushing drills to give you a wide variety of options for your cross training. We’ll also look at shoulder and upper back mobility.

Week 4 - Upper Body Pull

In our final week we’ll explore how to train pulling strength off the apparatus. We’ll look at the fundamentals of pulling for shoulder and upper back strength, and how to prep your upper body for single arm work too. In this class we’ll chat more about programming and how to take what you’ve learned into your own training moving forwards.

Still got questions or not sure if this is right for you? Drop me a message!

  • No! It’s fine if you can only make a couple live or if you watch all of them on replay in your own time. I'm aware not everyone will have access to equipment at the time of classes.

  • Yes, you’ll have access to the recordings within 24 hours of the live class, and you have lifetime access to them.

  • You don't need a lot of floor space, but you'll need access to something that you can hang from with space all the way around you.

  • These classes are suitable for all levels. The earlier in your aerial journey that you start cross training, the better!

  • You can still attend the classes live, and just join in with the warm up and floor drills, then do the class again when you have access to equipment. Or feel free to wait until you have access to equipment and go through the replay.
